6 free ways to support a small business

When I think of simple and encouraging ways to support small businesses, a few things come to mind:

  1. Share their content on your social media platforms, speak of their business to friends, family, co-workers, etc.

  2. Comment on their posts or “like” their posts as often as you are able to.

  3. Offer positive feedback in a public comment or in a private message. This is fuel for those of us who are serving our customers each and every day.

  4. If constructive criticism is warranted, considerately offer solutions in a private message. Publicly calling out any shortcoming before taking the time to address the issue privately is not the most tasteful way to handle things. Give the business owner the opportunity to make things right. Gratefully, I have never had a single soul say any unkind thing to me about my work. I have received some excellent suggestions like the incredibly popular Lemon Iced Cookies, for instance! I listen to my customers, and I desire to serve them in the best way I possible can!

  5. Leave a review on facebook, Google, Yelp, etc.

  6. If you have to step away from ordering for a while, let them know you haven’t forgotten them. I have a dear friend I order amazing products from, and when I was not able to be at pickup for two weeks in a row, I let her know.

  7. Did I miss any? Let me know if you have any ideas to add to this list!
