Some of My Favorite Local Small Farms and Businesses

I wanted to post some of my favorite places to purchase amazing local goods. Supporting small, local businesses and farms is something I regularly practice. I am grateful for these hardworking individuals who pour into their livelihoods in order to serve their families and communities. Giving them a shout-out is the least I can do.☺️

  • https://crossvilleacres.com - Pasture Raised Beyond Organic Meats, Dairy, Bakery, and More. This lovely farm located in Crossville is run by Pete and Tara Burns. Deliveries to several Knoxville locations every Monday make it easy for customers to pick up some incredible farm goods. Sign up for their text club, and you will receive texts every Thursday with their offerings for the following week. If you are familiar with the name Joel Salatin from Polyface Farm, Pete Burns apprenticed with Joel several years ago. I have been ordering from Crossville Acres for two years now, and I LOVE all of the raw “pet food” dairy - butter, cream, milk, buttermilk, mozzarella, ricotta, ice cream, yogurt, and kefir. Even though I produce and sell bakery items, I have purchased delicious cheesecake, cookies, and whoopie pies from Crossville Acres. Their grass-fed, grass-finished, antibiotic and vaccine free beef, ground pork, and better than organic whole chickens, and Thanksgiving turkeys are incredibly delicious, and I am confident that their farming practices are in line with how I choose to feed my family.

  • https://halleluyah-farms.square.site/ - this amazing new farm run by Sean and Amy Ollice is a bit of a drive from Knoxville, and I admit to being a bit spoiled with the ease of purchasing their amazing produce, soy-free, corn-free quail and chicken eggs when Amy comes through Knoxville once a month. We both LOVE to barter - Rachel Mae Bakes Truly 100% Organic Sourdough for HalleluYah Farms better than organic farm goods. The quality of their produce is unbelievably impressive! They grow the most outstanding sweet potatoes, white potatoes, cabbage, broccoli, garlic, pumpkins, squash, snap peas, etc. We have immensley enjoyed the quail eggs, chicken eggs, grass-fed, grass-finished, antibiotic and vaccine free ground beef, and whole chicken from HalleluYah Farms. If you are in Rogersville, be sure to check out this wonderful place!

  • Hot Sauces - stay tuned for more information regarding the best ever hot sauces. A friend of mine, also a classically trained chef, ferments her organic hot peppers to make some of the most delightful, flavorful hot sauces we have ever purchased! When Sarah’s business is up and running, I will update this page. If you are currently interested in reaching out to her, I will PM her information to you.

  • thepopstopcc - you will need to head over to Instagram and check out Raquel’s amazing organic handcrafted ice pops made with real fruit ingredients and sweetened with local raw honey or maple syrup. My family LOVES these pops, and can demolish the entire order of them in less than 24 hours. She offers flavors such as - Strawberry Mint, Pineapple Coconut, Blue Spirulina Lemonade, Mango Dragonfruit, and Fudgsicles. I am thrilled to support Raquel’s unique business while providing delicious and healthy pops for my family.

  • https://www.sunagocoffeeco.com/ - I LOVE this coffeeshop! Several blog posts ago, I wrote about having the Abundance Mindset when it comes to business. When I think of Josh and Yelena Wilson, I believe them to be some of the most generous business owners I have ever interacted with. They kindly allow Rachel Mae Bakes, and other small business owners to sell our hand-crafted products from their coffee shop with zero kickback. Well deserving winners of the Hardin Valley’s Reader’s Choice Award, Sunago has incredibly delicious coffee and the most beautifully designed shop. You will be so impressed with the stunning woodwork pieces created by the owner himself. I definitely encourage you to stop in and support this wonderful coffeeshop!

  • https://www.thealchemybakehouse.com/ - I am still dreaming about the Iced Oatmeal Cookies from this bakery. These enormous cookies can be found at Sunago Coffee Co, and do they ever sell out quickly! The creativity and quality are top notch. I love being able to enjoy these delightful cookies. One cookie is big enough for two people, but you will have a hard time wanting to share.😊

  • https://naturallyadeal.com/ - this local, fast-growing co-op is run by an incredibly hard-working entrepreneur, Jon Einwechter. You can find many, many deals on their site. They currently deliver typically every 3 weeks at 66 locations in AL, IN, MI, MS, NC, NE, OH, SC, TN, and VA. There is no cost to join, and customers are able to order at their convenience.

  • The Milk Lady - https://getrawmilk.com/map/the-milk-lady-knoxville - I have been ordering raw milk from Jennifer for quite a while now. She runs this operation from her Athens farm, and her beautiful cows are grass-fed, A2/A2. The organic raw milk is absolutely delicious! Jennifer frequents several local Farmer’s Markets in the area.

  • Heather Meyer Photography - https://www.heathermeyerphotography.com/ - Weddings, Engagements, and Families. If you are in the market for a traveling wedding photographer, check out the beautiful work of Heather Meyer. She has a classic style and an eye for beauty.

  • Holisitic and Hopeful - https://www.holisticandhopeful.net/ - where do I begin? The natural, hand-made products Lindsi makes are simply incredible! I have not burned scented candles in a very long time until I found Lindsi. Her hand-poured, all-natural candles have changed all of that for me! The quality and care she places into each and every one of her skin care products will blow you away! If you are looking for super clean, high quality products, you must check out this site!

  • https://www.bloomandgatherapothecary.com/about?fbclid=IwAR0PUPcuHq2uANYNtgrKw5cI2FSPc1arO0ARsg2e2oMTv60ISDMC9kDEk8w - this brand new business has some organic, small-batch, carefully curated handmade tinctures, balms, etc. Stay tuned as they continue to add to their inventory!

  • I will update this list as time goes on, but please check out these wonderful places and support the many small business owners in our area and beyond.
